the blue ground woven with eight dragons in pursuit of flaming pearls amid scrolling clouds, flowers, bats, Buddhist lions and the bajixiang, all above two carp leaping from cresting waves and a lishui bordered hem, striped sleeve extenders with matching embroidered black horse-hoof cuffs and gold edges; 132cm., 52in. Estimation: 3,000 - 5,000 GBP

PROVENANCE: Acquired by the father of the present owner in the UK between 1920 and 1940.
