Finely potted and of elegant proportion, the smooth globular body with a pair of moulded C-handles below the rounded shoulders tapering towards a hidden footrim, the interior and exterior of the jar and domed cover with a consistent and lustrous celadon glaze falling neatly at the foot and then continuing along the base, height 8.3" - 21 cm., six-character Qianlong mark. no condition problems noted to jar or cover. Provenance: Important Chinese Porcelain and Works of Art from an English Gentleman (lots 197-209) Now residing in Toronto, the owner of this collection dedicated the last 40 years to the full-time study of Asian Arts with a main interest in Chinese ceramics, jades and scholarly objects. The majority of the items were purchased at auction and from private collections.
