An ancient Roman bronze AE3 coin of the first Christian Emperor, Constantine the Great struck in 321 A.D. at the Trier mint.
The obverse shows Constantine facing right wearing crested helmet and cuirass. The legend reads: CONSTANTINVS AVG[vstvs] - "Constantinus Augustus"
The reverse shows a globe topped altar. The legend reading: BEATA TRANQUILLITAS - VOTIS XX - "Because of the Vows to our Caesar, 20 Beautiful Years of Tranquility".

Constantine the Great: Flavius Valerius Aurelius Constantinus, or Constantine the Great, Reigned from 307-337 AD. He is one of the Most Important rulers in Roman, indeed World History. He was the first Christian Emperor of Rome, reversing earlier persecutory laws and passing the famous Edict of Milan, which allowed for religious tolerance throughout the Empire.
