painted on the cylindrical body with a lady offering a flower to her companion seated in a chair, a boy holding a fan beside them, the waisted neck painted with bamboo sprays. Height 10 5/8  in., 27 cm. Estimation 5,000 — 7,000 USD

PROVENANCE: Acquired in Hong Kong, 1980s, and thence by descent.

NOTE: Compare a famille-verte vase of similar form and size sold in these rooms, 19th March 2007, lot 152; and also three vases painted with similar figures of ladies, from the T. Y. Chao Collection, Part II, sold at Sotheby's Hong Kong, 19th May 1987, lot 304, and again in our rooms on 11th-12th September 2012, lot 69.
