A large heavily potted blue and white hemispherical shaped palace bowl, the steep rounded sides raised on a ring foot. The bowl is painted on the exterior with a panoramic scene depicting egrets in a lotus pond framed between double line borders. On the interior a diaper pattern border is painted beneath the rim on the cavetto and in the well of the bowl a further scene of cranes in a lotus pond is illustrated within double line borders. On the white glazed base in underglaze blue are four kaishu characters within concentric circles reading Xing Lin Chun Yan, translated as "Spring Banquet in the Apricot Forest" or "Spring Banquet in the Fragrant Wood" or "A Scholar's Spring Banquet". Height:  4" (10.2cm)  Diameter:  8 1/4" (21cm). Price on request
