superbly potted with tapered swelling sides rising from a recessed base to a short waisted neck and lipped rim, covered on the exterior with a smooth and glossy brilliant raspberry glaze transmuting to a plum-coloured glaze with milky-lavender streaks drizzling down from the neck over the shoulders and towards the foot, the mushroom-coloured mouth figured with russet patches, the interior applied with a lavender-blue glaze cascading down from the rim leaving bare some patches of orange burnt biscuit on the interior walls, the base dressed with a mottled celadon and toffee-coloured glaze covering the incised six-character seal mark; 32.8 cm., 12 7/8  in. Estimation 500,000 - 700,000 HKD. A larger Qianlong vase of this type was sold in these rooms, 20th May 1987, lot 525; and another, but lacking a reign mark, was sold in our London rooms, 18th June 1985, lot 186. Compare also a vase of this form, but of larger size and covered in a Ru-type glaze, sold in our London rooms, 7th December 1993, lot 275.
