JADES FROM THE COLLECTION OF CEDRIC AND LOUISE BLAKER

Born in Sussex, England, Cedric Blaker (1886-1958) travelled to Shanghai in 1910 before permanently moving to Hong Kong in 1911, where he helped found Gilman's Trading Company. He was interned at Hong Kong's Port Stanley Prisoner of War Camp during World War 2, and was later appointed Chairman of The Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation (1955-1958). Blaker amassed his fine collection of Chinese works of art with the help of his wife, Louise.
