Composed of seven links of hemispherical form decorated with opaque white enamel, rubies and diamonds, the reverse of each fitted with a glazed compartment for a souvenir, five of the links supporting natural pearl drops, alternating with segments of floral links set with turquoise cabochons spaced by box links of diamonds and white enamel, length 15½ inches, signed C.G, center pearl drop detachable; circa 1885. A similar necklace with three pearl drops was sold by Sotheby's New York, January 28, 1981, lot 573.
Accompanied by GIA report no. 2145965799 stating that the pearls are natural, three saltwater and two freshwater.
