The jar potted with a flared rim to the short neck and a body of compressed ovoid form tapering inward above the flat base with a chamfered edge, the pale straw glaze covering the interior and most of the exterior walls, leaving the buff clay fabric visible along the base, the glaze also applied to the exterior of conforming cover with recessed circular knob and projecting rim and the underside left unglazed. 5 7/8in (15cm) high.
