Thickly potted with a flared rim and wide, curving well raised on a wedged foot, the rim striped in sepia wash and the exterior walls painted in shades of cobalt with a scholar receiving the requests of a standing beauty and her kneeling servant in a continuous garden setting beneath a celadon-tinged glaze that also covers the interior well, the rounded foot pad and recessed base left unglazed (wear to glaze, small chip). 8 1/2in (21.5cm) diameter. Sold for US$ 5,625 (€4,071)
