Pendant. Reddish-pink tourmaline, gold, enamel. 18th century. This beautiful reddish-pink gem the size of a chicken egg and weighing 260,86 carats was brought from Holland to France and then to Bohemia. Then it found its way from Prague to Stockholm where it became a real treasure in the collection of King Gustav III. While on his visit to St. Petersburg in 1777 the Swedish monarch presented it to Catherine the Great.
