Exceptional in its design and unmatched in craftsmanship, not to mention level of detail, the clock’s dial imaginatively depicts a swirling Chinese dragon amidst a detailed background of land, sea and clouds that is meticulously depicted in variously patterned and shaded mother-of-pearl and lacquer. This timepiece is truly one of Makovsky’s most magnificent works of art.
