This exquisite Art Deco nécessaire by Lacloche Frères, circa 1930, that features a beautiful panel designed and created by Makovsky. As the lid of the nécessaire, the panel depicts an enchantingly serene scene of a lake in mother-of-pearl and a branch with carved coral roses meandering through the foreground. This romantic Art Deco delight is designed with hidden hinges and opens magically, with a subtle squeeze of it’s side panels, revealing an inside mirror. The superb quality of the design and precise placement of the mosaic inlays render this piece a true marvel of craftsmanship and artistry.
