the hollowed-out root carved in the form of a large lingzhi head of irregular contour joined to the stalk extending vertically down and flanked on side by a pair of spiral stems, the stalk connected to the openwork base formed by further attendant lingzhi branches, the underside with two confronting fungus heads; 13.5 cm., 5 1/4 in.
