the body painted with birds, including peacocks, amongst flowering shrubs, the shoulders painted with a band of foliate scrolls, beneath a slightly waisted neck painted with two birds amongst flowering branches, blue GK monogram for Gerrit Pietersz.Kam of Drie Postelyne Astonne (The Three Porcelain Ash-Barrels) factory or the De Paeuw (The Peacock) factory, restoration to rim, 40cm., 15 3/4 in. high. Gerrit Pietersz.Kam was the owner of the Drie Posteleyne factory from 1679 until 1700. In the August of that year he transferred the factory to his son, Pieter Gerritsz. Kam, and shortly after purchased the De Paauw concern, which he managed until his death in 1705.
