Sturdily potted with steep sides rising to a metal-mounted, everted rim, the centre delicately painted with varying tones of cobalt blue, depicting a gathering of Scholars in an open pavilion overlooking a river bank, an attendant preparing tea just outside, all below a fourteen-character poem.
Note: The poem reads:
水光映座傳佳茗
花氣侵人笑語香
This may be translated as:
The light shining on the water reflects on the exquisite tea,
The scent of flowers approaches, and people smile and make compliments about the fragrance.
