carved and hollowed in the form of a knotted tree trunk, the exterior issuing gnarled leafy pine branches with three playful monkeys clambering atop, the base with lingzhi sprigs extending up the side, the opaque white stone suffused with russet-brown inclusions.
Provenance: Jacques Vic, Cannes, acquired in the 1980s.
