This longquan celadon vase was made in China during the Yuan or Ming dynasty in the 13th/14th century. A round base ring bears the sleek ovoid body. On the shoulder there short, narrow neck rises and forms an outward sweeping mouth edge.
The wall of the vase is decorated with finely and freely carved encircling lotus scrolls.
The latter are framed between lappet bands, which can be found at the foot rim and on the shoulder. A fine craquelure also adorns the entire bluish green surface of the vase.
