Glazed porcelain. Base with six character mark of Chenghua (1465-1487) within double ring in underglaze-blue. Well painted on the interior in underglaze-blue and underglaze-red. Foliate panel of dragonflies and aquatic plants. Richly speckled powder blue ground. Diameter: 41.5 cm. Good condition. Estimation : 1 600 € / 2 000 €

Large basin with delicate decoration in red and blue
This charming large porcelain basin dates to the Kangxi Period (1662-1722).
The well is painted on the interior in underglaze-blue and underglaze-red depicting a foliate panel of dragonflies and aquatic plants surrounded by a richly speckled powder blue ground.
The piece was probably made for export to Europe.
The underside bears the six character mark of Chenghua (1465-1487) within double ring in underglaze-blue.
