each of conical form, the steep sides of the interior painted with an inverted phoenix with outstretched wings, its body wrapping over the rim and extending down the exterior with long plumage flowing, set opposite two sprays of bamboo similarly growing from the exterior over the rim and extending into the cup, the base inscribed in underglaze blue with a four-character Yu ci Chunyi tang ('Bestowed from the Hall of Sincerity') hall mark within double squares, wood stands; 7 cm., 2 3/4 in.
