Secret Celadon Dish, Tang Dynasty (AD 618 ~ 907). Unearthed in 1986 from the Fufeng County Famen Temple Underground Palace of Tang Dynasty. Collected by Shaanxi History Museum.
This dish has an elegant shape with five-petalled floral mouth rim, pale green glaze and thin roughcast. The exterior wall remains some traces of wrapping paper which was painted with picture of a palace lady. It was one of the royal offerings unearthed from the crypt of Famen Temple, Fufeng County. Its discovery uncovers a thousand year’s riddle – the mysterious veil of legendary Secret Porcelain. Its superb quality and excellent techniques suggest its rarity and ingenuity. NDB: Ce décor connu par les annales était légendaire jusqu'à la découverte de cette assiette en 1986 lorsqu'un tremblement de terre a coupé en deux la pagode et a permis de découvrir les salles souterraines où était caché le trésor du temple.
