Gold, turquoise, garnet and diamond necklace and turquoise and seed pearl bangle, 1850s. Estimate 5,500 — 7,500 GBP. Photo Sotheby's.

Comprising: a necklace designed as an articulated serpent set with cabochon turquoise, the head decorated with rose diamonds and garnet eyes, length approximately 400mm, inscribed J.R.C & M.A.C 1856-1906; and a hinged bangle set with graduated lines of turquoise and seed pearls, suspending a heart-shaped turquoise locket, inner circumference approximately 175mm.
