with shallow rounded sides raised on a splayed stem, the center of the interior with an impressed and incised with a central foliate design, covered overall with an olive-green glaze pooling darker on the interior and trailing down the stem. Diameter 13 1/8  in., 33.3 cm

NotesSee a tazza of related form but with a galleried rim, excavated in 2003 from a Sui dynasty tomb at Xiaomintun, Anyang City, and now in the Henan Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology, published in Zhongguo chutu ciqi quanji / Complete Collection of Ceramic Art Unearthed in China, Beijing, 2008, vol. 12, pl. 44; and another in the Capital Museum, Beijing, published in Selections from the Capital Museum Collection, Beijing, 1991, cat. no. 6.

The dating of this lot is consistent with the result of a thermoluminescence test, Oxford authentication Ltd., no. P101z42.
