Priestley & Ferraro specialises in early Chinese art. This embraces all of Chinese art from its beginnings in the Neolithic period up to the early years of the Ming dynasty. Within this broad field our main focus is on the ceramics of the late Tang dynasty, Song dynasty and Jin dynasty, both stoneware and porcelain, though we also buy and sell archaic bronzes and jades, Buddhist sculpture and other Chinese works of art such as lacquer and cloisonné enamel wares.

The business was established in 1994 by David Priestley and Benedicta Ferraro, the former previously a director of Sotheby’s London and Hong Kong.

The gallery is located in St James’s, south of Piccadilly, an area rich in dealers in Asian art and Chinese art, and famous also for being home to Christie’s.

Priestley & Ferraro is a regular participator in Asian Art in London and exhibitor at the The European Fine Art Fair (TEFAF), Maastricht, as well as an enthusiastic supporter of the more recently established fine art fairs in Hong Kong.

Priestley & Ferraro is a member of the British Antique Dealers Association (BADA).
