the heavily potted U-form bowl with deep rounded sides resting on a low foot, carved on the interior with a central medallion of a flowering branch, the sides with eight detached flower sprays beneath a band of scrollwork around the rim, the exterior carved with a continuous band of peonies, the base with a burnt orange ring, lacquer cover, japanese wood box and cover (4).
