A blue and white 'Dragon' dish, Jiajing six-character mark in underglaze blue within a double circle and of the period (1522-1566). Estimate $15,000 – $25,000. Photo Christie's Image Ltd 2015.
The dish has shallow rounded sides that rise to a slightly flared rim. The interior is decorated with two five-clawed dragons contesting a flaming pearl amidst ruyi clouds and flames within a double line border, and the exterior is decorated with birds amidst four fruiting or flowering branches. 7 in.
