decorated around the exterior in underglaze blue with eight medallions each  enclosing a writhing dragon chasing a 'flaming pearl', all reserved on a molded lotus floral scroll ground. Height 17 3/4  in., 45.1 cm

NoteSee a closely related vase sold in these rooms, 13th March 1975, lot 362, and subsequently sold as part of the Dr. Peter M. Greiner collection at Christie's New York, 18th-19th September 2014, lot 804. Another vase of this form and decoration was sold in our London rooms, 26th February 1987, lot 1568.
