The jar is sturdily potted with a globular body and applied with slender vertical ribs to the sides. It is set with a pair of ribbed strap handles spanning the short neck that rises to the everted rim. It is covered overall with a lustrous brownish-black glaze that falls in an irregular line atop a thinner brown slip ground just above the foot. 8 5/8 in. (22 cm.) high
