An evening jacket of Cantonese embroidered silk, 1920s-30s. the lavender blue ground embroidered with large peonies and other blooms, white fur collar and cuffs, lined in green damask, chest 127cm, 50in

The jacket belonged to the vendor's great aunt, Florence Lewis, the daughter of a businessman from Oxford. She wore this jacket when playing bridge - putting it on over her evening dress when she took time out from dancing!
