The vase is finely painted on the exterior with a scholar standing by a rock holding a wine cup in his hand while admiring the moon, below an inscription describing the scene, a decorative band with four cartouches, and a band of bamboo and flowers encircling the neck. 10 in. (25.3 cm.) high
