The domed cover deeply carved through the layers of black and red lacquer with registers of concentric ruyi-heads surrounding a small flower head to the centre, the base similarly decorated, resting on a short, slightly spreading foot, the interior and recessed base lacquered black. 25cm (9 7/8in) diam.
