The top of the cover is inset with a reticulated gilt-bronze panel decorated with confronting dragons chasing the flaming pearl, all surrounded by the Eight Buddhist Emblems, bajixiang. The sides of the cover are decorated with eight lotus blooms, all encircled by leafy scrolls. 7 5/8 in. (19.4 cm.) long
