carved in the form of an archaic ewer yi, rising from a recessed base to a flared rim narrowing to a channelled spout, decorated around the exterior with a band of floral diapers, a chilong clambering to one side resting its head and claws on the edge, its bifid mane extending on each side forming the handle, the rim finely detailed with leiwen and the densely grained horn patinated to a rich brown colour - 13.3 cm., 5 1/4 in.
