Two plates of a column, The Greek A, Adrianus Kocx, Delft, ca. 1690, majolica, 125,3cm H × W × D 63,4cm 5,2 cm. BK-KOG-2567, BK-KOG-1681. Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam.

Tile with a blue representation with a crown with ermine resting on the semicircular part of a symmetric band ornamental work. Under the crown floats on clouds blowing a trumpet female figure. The trumpet hangs a standard with the crowned mirror monogram WR (William Rex). In the middle of the bottom edge a bust on foot of William III with head turned to the right. Keep Above him two angels blowing trumpets, which emerge from leaf chalices, a laurel wreath.

Tile with a painted blue decoration of a medallion in which William III as a Roman emperor on horseback. On the top of the medallion a list of birds at the ends. The bottom of the list is supported by caryatids. At the bottom of the tile, two baskets of flowers.

These plates were part of the wall decoration in the Water Gallery at Hampton Court, the London residence of William and Mary. They were ordered from the Greek A, where previously too large vases were made in the royal commission. Shortly after the sudden death of Mary in 1692, the Water Gallery aborted. The plates are then likely taken and entered the trade.
