Kendi in the form of a dragon, Wanli period, c. 1575 - c. 1600, blue and white porcelain, h 22.4cm × d 5.6cm × w 14.2cm × l 9.8cm. AK-RAK-1981-1. Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam.
Unglazed bottom with some sand oven on low foot ring. Flattened kendi in the shape of a dragon with spread wings, emerging from the waves on rice and partially covered with a lotus leaf. The neck and head of the dragon form a large nozzle. The long neck placed the dragon 's body, ending in a wide mouth with raised lip and is adorned with three different bands : the lower band is painted with vertically placed banana leaves, the middle with half lotus leaves and top with flower tendrils. Decorated in underglaze blue.
