of low domed form, set to one side with a short, straight spout, and to the other with a strap handle, carved around the sides with a band of foliage above a border of broad, lappets with combed details, the flattened cover surmounted with a small knop and pierced with two holes, the ewer and cover applied with an olive-green glaze, thinning at the rims and stopping unevenly above the foot to reveal the buff body (2).
