Each bowl is finely painted on the exterior in underglaze blue with a dragon and phoenix divided by a flaming pearl and stylised clouds. The interior is decorated with a central medallion enclosing a four-clawed dragon.The base is inscribed with an apocryphal Chenghua six-character mark in underglaze blue within a circle, boxes.
