the ovoid body with rounded sides rising from a recessed base to an angled shoulder and short straight neck, covered overall in a black glaze suffused with a pattern of iridescent silvery 'oil-spots', stopping neatly above the foot to leave an unglazed area covered with a dark brown slip, the domed cover similarly glazed and surmounted by a circular knop, Japanese wood box. Quantité: 3 - 14.2 cm, 5 5/8 in.
