of conical form, the flaring sides rising from a short foot to an everted rim, covered overall with a lustrous black glaze suffused with russet 'hare's fur' streaks extending from the rim down the interior and exterior, the glaze falling short of the foot to reveal the purplish-brown stoneware body, Japanese wood box.
