the deep slightly rounded sides rising from a short straight foot to an incurved rim, carved around the exterior with overlapping long lotus leaves and covered overall in a bluish-green glaze; 14 cm, 5 1/2  in.

NoteA slightly larger bowl of this form, from the Edward T. Chow and Meiyintang collections, was included in Regina Krahl, Chinese Ceramics from the Meiyintang Collection, vol. 1, London, 1994, pl. 545; and another from the collection of Sir Esler Dening, G.C.M.G, was sold in these rooms, 23rd May 1972, lot 113.
