The first Zambian emeralds were found in the 1920s while geologists were searching for copper deposits, but mining them was not pursued for several decades. Interestingly, emeralds are now Zambia's most important export. However, fine Zambian Emeralds, such as this one, are still few and far between. Faceted as a classic oval-cut, which allows the high degree of transparency to speak for itself, this gem has the most sought-after hue of green.
Accompanied by a Gemological Institute of America report number 2151745899 dated November 19, 2013 stating that the 3.25 carats oval-cut emerald natural and that it has no indications of clarity enhancement.
