the robust baluster body rising from a flat base to a broad shoulder and a short constricted neck, the exterior of the body divided into four cartouches, two painted with scenes of butterflies and birds fluttering around blossoming branches and jagged rockwork, the other two with figures engaged in various activities in a riverscape scene detailed with pavilions and lush vegetation, a stylised pendent ruyi band encircling the shoulder below borders of upright ruyi blooms and stylised chevron motifs collaring the neck; 48.6 cm, 19 1/8 in.
