Both the box and cover are carved through thick layers of cinnabar lacquer with fruiting branches bearing lychee; together with a Qianlong period carved cinnabar lacquer handle; 2 3/4 in. (7.1 cm.) diam.
Provenance: The box and cover: Acquired by the present family in Germany in 1993
