in the form of a drum, decorated around the sides in varying shades of cobalt blue with three of the bajixiang (Eight Buddhist Emblems), conch shell, pearl and artemisia leaf interspersed with scrolling clouds, the cover with a phoenix in flight among swirling clouds within a scroll border, with raised bosses around the side of the cover and above the foot, the underside with a fourth emblem, the lozenge within double circles, fitted wood box.
