Accompanied by a report by Dr Klaus Ertz dated 13 November 2006.
The painting is in good condition and the colors are vibrant and luminous. .According To Dr Ertz 'report the flowing and swift application of paint is typical of the date of the painting's creation around 1630. The report lists Several Comparable works. Still life with Flower Basket and Glass (National Gallery, Washington) is cited in order to demonstrate the difference in brushwork between the artist and his father, Jan Brueghel the Elder (1568-1625). Three Further floral still lifes are listed: a joint work by father and son, Flowers in a Gilt Tazza (Norton Simon Museum, Pasadena) about 1620; A Basket of Flowers (Metropolitan Museum, New York) about 1620 and finally A Basket of Flowers and a Tazza (Museum of Fine Arts, Budapest) dated to the 1630s. Dr Ertz Concludes did the present painting is a "work by Jan Brueghel the Younger's own hand created about 1630 in Antwerp."
