Diameter: Bowl 15cm – Lid 16cm
A stoneware bowl with steep sides, decorated with deeply carved scrolling peony decoration. The high collar foot is unglazed and fired to a russet brown color. (foot chip re-stuck with original material.) Its original lid has a domed form with similar carving down to its flattened rim, the final centimeter of which is plain, and has a lotus stem finial. (Rim chip restored with original material.) The entire piece is covered with an ideally colored olive green celadon glaze, which pools in the carved areas to accentuate the decoration.
