applied with a band of stiff acanthus leaves to the base and cover enriched in green, the rim of the beaker with a band of puce tassels, each side painted with a panel of chinoiserie figures at various pursuits reserved in Böttger-lustre filled cartouches, Quantité: 2

NoteA very similar beaker and cover, perhaps the pair to the present example from the Maurice de Rothschild collection was sold in same sale in 1977, lot 11. Close comparables with mouldings picked out in green include a mounted example with chinoiserie figures, see Richard Seyffarth, Johann Gregorius Höroldt, Dresden, 1981, figs. 20-21; and two painted with harbour scenes in the Bavarian National Museum, see Rainer Ruckert, Katalog Bayerisches Nationalmuseum, Munich, 1966, pp. 78-79, pl. 54, nos. 195-196.
