Lot 29. An opaque blue glass 'lotus' censer, Qianlong four-character incised mark within a double square and of the period (1736-1795), 3 7/8 in. The bombé-form censer is decorated with two everted loop handles to the rim. The body is finely carved with three layers of overlapping lotus petals.

NoteCompare this lot with a slightly smaller example from the collection of Robert Hatfield Ellsworth, illustrated in Clear as Crystal, Red as Flame: Later Chinese Glass, New York, 1990, no. 34.
