the flattened circular body, rising from a short oval spreading foot to a cylindrical neck and gilt-bronze-mounted everted rim, applied to the shoulders and neck with two gilt-bronze phoenix-scroll handles, decorated to each side in bright enamels with a dense design of peony amongst leaves and rockwork on a turquoise ground.
