The dish has shallow sides rising to an everted rim, and the interior is incised with two phoenixes amidst lotus, all under a white glaze.

Note: A very similar Jiajing-marked dish of the same size, but with an incised design of two winged horses amidst clouds is in the Percival David Collection, in the British Museum, no. PDF.475.
